In December, by joining efforts with THIS and SpondBond we purchased a surgical instrument called “Dermatome” for a hospital in Izium, a city in the Kharkiv region.
Izium was under russian occupation until September 2022, when it was freed by the Ukrainian army. Approximately 80% of the town’s infrastructure is destroyed, and many people were killed or injured. Izium is near the Luhansk region and as a result, Izium’s hospital hosts locals as well as folks from the Luhansk/Donetsk region.
The Dermatome is utilized in cases of severe burns, it removes the damaged/dead skin, and it is also utilized during reconstructive surgery. As you can imagine, the absence of such equipment limits doctors’ options and the outcomes for the patients are less than optimal.
We want to thank THIS for raising money and participating in this effort, also SpondBond – thank you for purchasing and delivering this equipment.
